‘A Midsummer’s Nights Dream’ Wedding at Pollok House and Sherbrooke Castle, Glasgow

Inspired Woodland Vibes abounded for Gillian and Calum's Big Day

Gillian had a clear vision for her day; her love of books and literature combined with her and Calum’s love of walking in woodlands with their dog. As a result, she wanted lots of white and green with hints of blue, a woodland meadow vibe and lots of flower crowns!

The ceremony was held at Pollok House, Glasgow. I used a mix of locally grown Scottish flowers, some from my own garden and also some imports too.

BOUQUETS & FLOWER CROWNS

The bouquets featured ferns and foliage abounded with dahlias, lisianthus, echinops, delphiniums and scabiosa to give that elevated meadow feel. They were tied off with gorgeous silk ribbon and whilst the maid’s had simple rustic foliage based crowns, Gillian herself had a more floral piece that was made with mostly dried or dryable materials so she could have it as a keepsake.

THE RECEPTION

The reception was held at Sherbrooke Castle Hotel, Glasgow and featured delicate bud vases of varying heights to the tables. We designed a feature piece for the staircase at the hotel - again in that Midsummer’s Night’s Dream woodland vibe, featuring flowers such as astrantia, yarrow and wild grasses, lifted with delphiniums and gorgeous Scottish dahlias.
